Abardare National Park is a protected area in the Aberdare Mountain Range in central Kenya, located east of the East African rift Valley, approximately 100 km from Nairobi with the nearest town being Nyeri. The park has a wide range of Landscapes, Mountain peaks rising up to 4000meters, V-shaped valleys intersected by streams, rivers, and waterfalls comprise of the Chania waterfall, Magura waterfall and Queens caves, Gura waterfall, Karuru waterfall, Thomsons or Nyahururu waterfall, Kereita cave and waterfall, Chasing waterfall.Â
Moorlands, bamboo forests, and rain forests are found at lower elevations. Protected wildlife present at the park include; Lions, leopard, elephants, East african wild dogg, giant forest hog, Waterbuck, cape buffalo, suni, side striped jackal, elund, duicker, olive baboon, bushbuck, mountain reebuck, olive baboons and many bird species.

Aberdare National Park is a cool highland forest reserve, and guests are advised to carry warm clothing for early mornings and evenings. Wildlife viewing is mainly from tree lodges overlooking waterholes and salt licks, rather than extensive game drives.
Access to lodges inside the park is via lodge transfer vehicles, where guests leave their safari vehicle at the park gate and are transferred by the lodge.

Kenya Residents/Citizens: KES 1,100Â per adult per day, & KES 675 per child per day
Non-Residents: USD 70Â per adult per adult & $40 Per child per day
Park fees are payable directly to the park authorities and are subject to change.
